Man holding meat cleaver robs Stoughton convenience store, flees on bicycle

A man wielding a meat cleaver forced a cashier to empty the contents of a cash register at a 24-hour gas station/convenience store early Sunday morning in Stoughton, officials said.

The scene unfolded just before 1 a.m. when a white male dressed in all black approached Seasons Corner Market at 140 Sharon St. on a bicycle and chased the cashier behind the counter, Stoughton police said in a statement posted to Facebook.

“He was armed with what was described as a meat cleaver, and it was brandished throughout the entire robbery,’’ the statement said.
