If you have an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, especially one you can’t get tot turn on, we may have good news for you.
This week Apple launched a new repair program for the phone, specifically devices that were manufactured between October 2018 and August 2019. That means you’ve purchased that 6s in the past year.
Apple says it “has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail.”
The issue only impacts devices within a certain limited range of serial numbers.
To find out if it impacts your phone you’ll need to go to Apple’s website for the program and then enter in the serial number for your device.
If your phone is covered, you can get it fixed an any Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider. If you’ve already repaired your phone due to the issue, Apple will reimburse you for that repair with a receipt.
The program covers affected iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
